About Shared Lives carers

Shared Lives South West works with over 250 Shared Lives carers across Devon and Cornwall. Without our Shared Lives carers, there is no Shared Lives South West.  To find out more about how we deliver our services through our network of fantastic carers click here

A Shared Lives carer is a person who offers accommodation and support and/or personal care in their own home under the supervision of a Shared Lives scheme. The carer must be willing to include the people who live or stay with them in their family and home life alongside the rest of the household as a member of the family. Their job is to enable people to live their lives how they want in the supportive environment of a family,  and to make sure people feel part of their local community and do all the things they really want to do.
