Shared Lives South West in Cornwall
The Cornwall team of Shared Lives South West are based in our offices just outside of the village of Wheal Rose, near Scorrier, Cornwall. The Cornwall office is also the main administrative office for our Plymouth services.
We currently have 91 approved Shared Lives carers in Cornwall, supporting 98 long term service users and 44 regular short break service users from Cornwall.
We offer long term and short break Shared Lives services and have a specialist short break service for people with dementia. We are expanding our services in all areas of Cornwall rapidly and are developing new Shared Lives services for people with mental health needs and parents with a learning disability.
New development – Shared Lives services for people with mental health support needs in Cornwall.
Through Department of Health funding to support the expansion of Shared Lives services in the South West, Cornwall Foundation Trust has been able to second a worker to Shared Lives South West for 6 months. The aim is to develop Shared Lives services for people with mental health support needs. Shirley Finnamore will be working with us from January 2012.
